“Kniguru” is a contest held via Internet. It accepts not yet published prose manuscripts addressed to 10-16 year readers. After thorough review by experts of 15 texts that have reached the finals, they are assessed by an open jury consisting exclusively of teenagers. The contest “Kniguru” demonstrates what is actually interesting for young readers; it provides the publishers with the motion vectors. Its website offers the first and the world’s only legal publicly accessible library of modern Russian-language literature for teenagers, and is also a debate forum for all 10-16 year olds willing to discuss what they have read.
